Fastrack · Rain Delays Guardians-Rays ALCS Game 4 Start

MLB plans to play ALCS Game 4 in Cleveland on Friday night, with first pitch moved to around 8 p.m. ET. Rain is forecast through much of the day.

2-1: Cleveland's series lead after a 3-2 Game 3 win Thursday.
6 p.m. was the original start; the NLCS ending freed prime time.
Nick Martinez starts for Tampa Bay; Shawn Armstrong opens a Cleveland bullpen game.
Petey Halpin's two-run homer in the fifth decided Game 3.

Why it matters: The time change came because the Brewers swept the Dodgers, not because of weather. Forecasts suggest the later start may still offer the best dry window.

A Friday rainout would push Game 5 to Sunday and cancel the travel day.
The teams could then play up to four straight days.
