The President and members of his economic team met today with leading economists to hear their views on the economic outlook. The economists briefing the President underscored the strength of the job market and how the strong labor market recovery has helped American workers and families. They discussed the substantial progress made in lowering inflation while maintaining a strong and resilient economy. In addition, they discussed the importance of public and private investment—including the President’s Investing in American agenda—in boosting the economy’s potential for the long run.
