Background: The RNC sued over Mississippi's post-Election Day ballot receipt deadline, which allowed ballots received after the election to be counted in violation of federal law. Mississippi's law illegally extended the election past the date mandated by Congress. Extending ballot deadlines after Election Day undermines trust and confidence in elections.
