The Democrat members of the Henderson County board has refused to expand these sites, despite the actions of the NCSBE and the North Carolina Legislature's new law. RNC Chairman Michael Whatley released the following statement: "It is unacceptable for Henderson County Democrats to refuse to expand voting access for victims of the hurricane. The Democrat board members should use their power to help victims of the hurricane, not make it more difficult for them to exercise their voting rights.
