FollowingLeader remarks, the Senate will Senate proceed to Executive Session to resumeconsideration of Executive Calendar #701 Kashi Way, of Maryland, to be a Judgeof the United States Tax Court for a term of fifteen years. The Senatewill recess from 11:45am until 3:00pm to allow for weekly caucus meetings andthe Joint Meeting of Congress. At1:20pm Senators will gather and at 1:30pm will proceed as a body to the Houseof Representatives. At 2:00pm, His Excellency BenjaminNetanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, will address a Joint Meeting of Congress. Atapproximately 3:15pm, the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture onthe Way nomination. Atapproximately 5:00pm the Senate will vote on the motion to invoke cloture onExecutive Calendar #702 Adam B. Landy, of South Carolina, to be a Judge of theUnited States Tax Court for a term of fifteen years followed by the motion to invoke cloture on ExecutiveCalendar #551 Margaret L. Taylor, of Maryland, to be Legal Adviser of theDepartment of State. If clotureis invoked on the Way, Landy, or Taylor nominations, confirmation will occur ata time to be determined by the Majority Leader in consultation with theRepublican Leader. DuringTuesday’s session Senator Schumer laid before the Senate the House message toaccompany S.2073, and filled the amendment tree. Senator Schumer filed cloture on the motionto concur in the House amendment to S.2073 with amendment #3021 (KOSA/COPPA). As a result of cloture having been filed, Senatorsshould expect a roll call vote in relation to the House message during Thursday’ssession.
