She’s worn many different hats – from the card desk to the reception room. And for years now, she’s welcomed Senators, staff, and visitors right here to the Senate chamber.“Alongside the brave men and women of the Capitol Police, our doorkeepers control access to this historic institution. Here on the floor, they keep us safe. Up in the galleries, they give citizens the chance to watch their democracy in action.“After more than four decades, Laverne has certainly earned a break from all of us!
