It’s really just a down payment on the work that you do. And as long as I have the opportunity to serve in the Congress, I will advocate on behalf of securing additional resources, so that you can build upon the progress that has been made and continue to make such a big difference for the people of Greater Coney Island,” said House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08). “We’re thankful for all of you, for the incredible work that you do. Whether it’s violence prevention or trauma work, mental health, vocational assistance, all designed to make sure that our young people here on the peninsula have the opportunity to allow that God-given talent, ability, heart, soul and intellect, to be able to be brought to fruition so that they can grow up and be whatever it is their heart desires.”“Although Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island is a citywide provider of human services with sites and diverse programming throughout the five boroughs, our home is in Coney Island and the needs of our local community are paramount in our mission. Leader Jeffries has again demonstrated that despite his distinguished national role and responsibilities, he remains deeply concerned with and committed to the needs of the underprivileged of our communities,” said Rabbi Moshe Weiner, Executive Director, Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island. “We are incredibly grateful for Leader Jeffries’ effort to secure funding which will enable JCCGCI’s extensive and comprehensive Community Support Systems division to consolidate and expand its activities in a multi-service center which will support individuals and families throughout Coney Island with a wide array of assistance, including housing, domestic violence prevention and management, case management, mental health services, violence prevention, school-based conflict resolution training, trauma recovery, career counseling, occupational skills training, literacy instruction and much more. It’s grants like these that really help transform the neighborhood in a positive way for New Yorkers in need. Every time we are able to help someone from this new site, we will think of and be thankful to Leader Jeffries for helping making it possible.”The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island provides a wide spectrum of senior citizen, vocational, educational, immigrant, crime-reduction and community revitalization services to alleviate the health-related and economic struggles of people throughout Coney Island and New York City.### Back to News Share: FacebookTwitterNewsletter Sign UpSubscribe to our e-newsletter that provides updates on important issues, my work in the Congress and what's happening in our district.EmailSubmitBill SearchPlease select and optionCurrent LegislationAll LegislationAll Sources--MembersCongressional RecordCommittee ReportsNominationsSearch for a billSubmit QueryOffice LocationsWashington, DC Office 2433 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, DC 20515 Phone: (202) 225-5936 Hours: M-F 9 am - 5 pm Central Brooklyn District Office 55 Hanson Place Suite 603 Brooklyn, NY 11217 Phone: (718) 237-2211 Hours: M-F 9am - 5pm South Brooklyn District Office 445 Neptune Avenue, 1st Floor Community Room 2C Brooklyn, NY 11224 Phone: (718) 373-0033 Hours: M-F 9am - 5pm ToolsAccessibilityPrivacyCopyright
