President Donald Trump said he met with Putin envoy Kirill Dmitriev at the White House on Thursday. He said he did not meet visiting Ukrainian officials.
Trump said he could not disclose what he discussed with Dmitriev.
Both delegations attended an event honoring Melania Trump's Oleshky ceasefire.
6 days: the Oleshky truce ran from Oct. 27 to Nov. 1.
Nearly 800 people evacuated Oleshky during the truce, Melania Trump said.
Why it matters: Trump suggested a deal is coming. He said it would be big, involve more than Ukraine and possibly all of Europe.
The Oleshky pause was the most significant truce since Russia's full-scale invasion.
Zelenskyy said the truce showed fighting stops when Putin wants it to.
