Police Probe Two More Alleged Rapes by Russell Brand
Russell Brand was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. Police confirmed they are investigating two more rape allegations against him.
4-week trial covered alleged attacks between 1999 and 2009.
Jury convicted Brand of raping a 21-year-old fan in 2009.
Jury acquitted him of several counts, including two rape charges.
One new complainant was 16 when she dated Brand, then 30.
Why it matters: Brand has been interviewed under caution, and police have sent files on both complainants to prosecutors. Charges have not yet been brought.
Prosecutors previously found two other allegations did not meet the evidential threshold.
Det. Supt. Andy Furphy said "our work is not done" and more victims may exist.
Left coverage, 1 sources: The left frames the story around police warnings of more possible victims and defense tactics the lead detective described as perpetuating rape myths.
