Brazil canceled Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro's passports Tuesday after he missed a court deadline to hand them in. Police are trying to locate him.
Why it matters: Bolsonaro was the right's presidential nominee and has not conceded. He has called for the result to be annulled.
Where they split: Outlets disagree on whether he left Brazil: the New York Post cites two sources saying he went to the US, while Argentina and Brazil's federal police report no record of an exit.
Center coverage, 18 sources: The center focuses on the procedural facts: the missed deadline, the canceled passports and the unconfirmed border reports.
Left coverage, 13 sources: The left frames his absence as a possible flight from justice that deepens a leadership vacuum on the Brazilian right.
Right coverage, 17 sources: The right emphasizes the mystery of his location and reports he reached the US, echoing his father's 2022 path.
What’s next: Federal police are checking border crossings and asking Argentine authorities for entry records.
