Met Police Confirm Letter on Thomas Markle Allegations Was Sent
The Metropolitan Police confirmed Saturday that it received a letter in January 2019 containing claims about Thomas Markle. The force said it is reviewing how it handled the letter.
The letter alleged offending outside the UK, the Met said.
It went to the Met's Protection Command over the duchess's security.
Officers passed it to the Sussexes' office, not other police agencies.
UK police are not investigating Markle, who lives in the US.
Why it matters: Meghan said Friday she was told in 2018 the allegations were being investigated. The Met now says it shared the details with no other law enforcement agency.
Philippine police have seized Markle's computer for forensic examination.
The FBI said it would support Philippine authorities and probe any US violations.
