Fastrack · German Minister Warns of Daily Hybrid Warfare After Drone Attacks

A drone exploded in a Bulgarian sunflower field near the Romanian border on Saturday. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said there were no casualties or infrastructure damage.

100 meters: the distance from the blast site to the Romanian border.
1,000 meters from the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline compressor station, which links Turkey and Ukraine.
Two drones were spotted Thursday at a Bundeswehr base in Mechernich, North Rhine-Westphalia.
A separate drone was found Tuesday at Leipzig/Halle Airport near Ukrainian cargo aircraft.

Why it matters: The incidents put NATO infrastructure in the spotlight. Leipzig/Halle Airport is both a civilian freight hub and a NATO logistics node.

Radev said neither Bulgaria nor Romania detected the drone due to its small size.
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt described the Leipzig incident as a 'new level of danger.'
